Short company description:
The JTA is the leading public transportation provider in the Northeast Florida region. It manages fixed-route buses, shuttles, bus rapid transit, the St. Johns River Ferry, and a variety of microtransit services. The JTA also maintains bridges and builds roads, streets and makes other infrastructure improvements.
How do you define success?
To be successful in public transportation authorities must expand their role to become mobility integrators. It is not enough to simply operate buses and trains. Modern travelers want and demand customized services and in order to sustain the industry, we must become mobility integrators to provide it.
If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?
I would like to be remembered for never settling for the status quo, for always looking ahead for ways to improve the quality of life in the communities in which I served.
How has your business changed in the past 12 months?
The JTA launched MOVE 2027, Mobility Optimized Through Vision and Excellence, that provides a strategic roadmap to enhance such areas as mobility, connectivity, jobs, economic development, and infrastructure.
What are your biggest goals in the next 12 Months for your business?
To continue implementing MOVE 2027 and other key JTA initiatives such as our autonomous vehicle program, transit-oriented development, and recruitment.
